yes jimmy,
this one with its 24 ADAT busses seems to be good, price is ok too ...
depends on how many busses you need between the two DAW ! but 24 is good !!!

as far as i know, CW / SC is german , isn't it ?
I use, sell, suggest pro DAW with exclusively CW boards on them ... for about 10 years !!! see DIGITALAUDIOTOOL.COM ...

It looks like you can cable this a bit differently if you want also, using the Digiface. That's a 3X ADAT I/O 1/2 rack chassis. Then you could go to PCI or ExpressCard with a single firewire cable, (not firewire). Haven't seen if the PCIE version of the card is there yet.

sorry Olive, that was indeed a joke - I thought it would be clear by mentioning my passion for french cheese - to relativate my 'national' choice of gear

I was looking at the m-audio FireBridge myself to link my laptop with scope. It 'could' be really good - but anything FireWire tends to be hit or miss. Some have no problems, some have many problems - most are somewhere in between. Try and buy one where you can return within 30 days if it doesn't fly. Would be really interested to hear from anyone who has actually tried one.
Also be prepared for highish latency (+10ms), as this is as good has you could expect. And RME PCIe solution would have much lower latency.

I am going with the RME PCI, and the DigiFace breakout box w/ dual MIDI.

I am staying w/ the P35 / E6850. I believe it will be the power required to get all of the instances of VSTi's, and Gigapulse for live work. Vista and Gigastudio 4 should be happy with the ability to use 4GB's of RAM for content loads.
Routing all of these instruments into Scope is where it's at for me.
This board could also house the Scope DSP cards if Soniccore updates their drivers next year.
That would be a dream DAW. Until then I will go back to using 2 DAW's again.
I have made tons of cash w/ Scope and will continue to do so.

Why digiface?
Wouldn't it be much clearer and cheaper to use ADAT?

Actually looked at from a different perspective the Digiface could be a good investment. When Jimmy moves the DIgiface to a system without PCI (PCIe only) he'll only need to purchase the HDSP PCIe card which will cost a lot less than one of the other integrated PCI cards retooled to support PCIe.

Nice note on the SM board. Every one of my main workstations since 1998 has been based around a SuperMicro board (Xeons though).

They are super stable.
I still have 3 x Scope DP's and Gigastudio 2.54 running on a PIV 3.2 Northwood, and a P4SCT+II for years w/o a single hiccup !!
