Yep, if you want to be the center of the Universe, you've got to pay for being so too. Personally, I feel close enough to that center as things are now.

Ow, c'mon. I paid good money for the card and the software. I would love to able to use it as well.

Still, you are expecting a small company to drop everything they have in their hands (including servicing other customers) to make that special treatment for you ... and even so, while they are doing a physical move of stuff.
... oh and, Creamware cards are low cost studio gear. You'd get from about ½ to 1 high quality analog stereo compressor for as much as a full featured Scope professional ... if you want to do the very difficult price/value/service-speed comparison.

It's not "special treatment" to hand customers stuff they paid for. That they they are moving is
their problem and should not be their customers'. It's not that I am asking for the something difficult. . A simple mail will suffice.

I find the amount of money that I paid for a sound card plus audio interface quite enough, thank you.

it's not just a soundcard but heaven!

And for that you have to wait a little longer
have you noticed that creamware went insolvent at the end of the past year? so for us longtime users it's more than understandable if some requests take a bit longer in this situation...
but if you're bored, read the scope manual first
cheers

Consider it a free lesson in the virtues of patience.
I understand how you feel though. I'm a very impatient fellow as well.
It would be nice if there was an automated way to get your keys.. some sort of system like UA has with the UAD authorizations..
But there isn't. Creamware (or soniccore now) are a very small company and some latitude has to be given.
If it is really a huge problem, you can send your scope cards to me.
I'll wait for the Keyfiles, and then I can sell the cards back to you with the keyfiles included.

As far as I understand Motormind, he asks for an activation key for a product he already paid for - not for support or answering questions he could have answered by himself reading the owner's manual. And I don't see that it is his problem that the company is organized as it is.
Sorry fellows, my job has always been sales & marketing and I know - after 36 years in business - what I am talking about.

I dunno, but when I bought a 'new' scope all the activation keys were printed on the inside of the manual...
A hassle to enter them all, sure, but it's certainly doable if he needs it "now"
If it is a 'used' card, he could have gotten the keys from the old seller...
Considering the size of the company, the fact that keys have to be generated by hand, the recent restructuring, the timezone differences etc... it's not really realistic to expect keys to be generated in a 'couple hours'.
The only way to meet expectations like that is if the process were automated. That would be the way to go, ultimately.
Maybe we should get a list from Ralf of all the projects he has to work on, and then we can tell him which ones are most important.
We can put "create automated system for generating keyfiles" at the top of the list.

(kidding of course)

you know, there
was once a kind of automated system to provide the allkeys file. and there were reasons to take it out of business.
and I would make a difference, too, for new and used cards. I don't know personally whether a new card could be fed with the keys printed on the manual or not (since I didn't ever buy a new card, apart from that NOS XTC), but if, there would be no reason to complain. if used, well, I don't think they're bound to serve everybody as if they were the ones who actually bought the card (though I for one was always treated like that, btw. . yes ralf, you're the true keymaster

).

motormind wrote:garyb wrote:motormind wrote:How long should it take to receive a keyfile?
normally, a day, maybe two.
sometimes it's possible to get filtered by the antispam filter, especially if using a "free" email address like hotmail. with all the moving going on, 3-4 days might happen. if it's been more than 3-4 days, just write back and they should take care of you. what email did you write to?
That is pretty slow. I'd expect it with a few hours. I wrote to

I didn't notice the answer to someone else's question: is the new company called Sonicore or is it still Creamware, distributed by Sonicore?

The company is called SonicCore. They market a line of products they are now calling the Creamware Scope family. I believe that is correct but if not I'm sure they will correct me.
company = soniccore. Products keep their name
