I've already asked this question in the Off Topic Forum, but I'm not completely satisfied... I would like to be a little more sure about that before proceding.

I would like to know if using DirectX 9 is convinient for us or not. If you have any experience, please tell... Does it work fine with Cubase and SFP? Cheers...

I was told (on a MS forum) not to install DX9 if my Video card was a pre 2003 model. Since I'm using a Matrox G400, I haven't installed it. I'd like to hear more about this.

My Video Card is new, so no problems there, but what about compatibility? Will VST plugins and Direct X plugins be accepted? Will it work with Cubase and VST?

To be or not to be, that is the question...

This will not affect VST or DX plugin for sure..

More likely, windows media player...

I have a problem with media player since i updated to dx9, the same problem that appeared with dx8. Songs loop a really small portion of sounds while you put it on pause... Like the buffer is looping in memory.

And this problem was fixed with dx8.1a... I would wait for the next version, since it is not in any way enhancing your "daw".
