On two of my machines (both running XP) the little "progress indicator bar" on the taskbar has disappeared. This is the little blue bar which shows you the progress of websites loading.

My laptop lost its bar a few months ago and now my main surfing machine has lost its bar too. There are no virus, BHOs, trojans etc, everything is totally clean.

I just can't find anything about it by Googling or trawling through the taskbar options...

A small, irritating sort of problem. Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi XP guys,

I've got a BTW question: I found one XP feature annoying: if you have multiple IE windows opened there is only one button below (unlike older Win systems where you could see as many bars as opened windows). How to get rid of it? How to return to the old days look?

Ah, yes, um, ah.... )

Ok then, how about this one: my Favourites don't sort alphabetically anmore (like they used to). Everything new just gets added to the bottom.

Now don't tell me there's a "sort, by name" option because there's not. (Is there?)

At least I know this one:

Right-click the taskbar, go to Properties, and uncheck the option "group similar taskbar items".

@Spirit: click on Fvourites so the window with your favourites rolls down. Right-click anywhere in that window and choose sort by name.
