I have a Pulsar 2 card and am looking to upgrade my computer... Can anyone suggest a good solid set-up? Im looking for a new processor/ hard drive/ ram etc.. to run with Pulsar.
I am a bit of a computer novice, and would appreciate any advice you can give....
Cheers!

Well, I guess this question has been asked and answered about a million times here

.. but anyway, the main thing to decide is which motherboard to go for. The chipsets to go for are nVidia nForce2 (if you choose the AMD route) or intel (if you go for P4). Good motherboards using these chipsets include Asus A7N8X (nforce2) or Asus P4PE (intel 845PE chipset). Yes, I only use Asus motherboards now, I won't touch anything else anymore.
IMHO, the main deciding factor between the 2 CPU types is noise and heat. AMD processors run very hot, and need a (usually) loud heatsink/fan, although quieter ones are available (Zalman for example). P4's run much cooler and are very overclockable. I do think the AMD processors give better performance, certainly gHz for gHz. My old AMD AthlonXP1800+ (with Asus A7m266 board) performed as well if not better than my P4 2.0gHz (with Asus P4PE).
I personally don't use a desktop PC for audio uses, only a laptop. However, I use a desktop for internet/file storage duties, and I changed from an AMD system to a P4 system as my room was getting too hot.
