I've been told recently that, on Mac (os?) copying a directory over a directory of the same name deletes all the files of the old directory.

Under Windows, only files of the same name are overwritten, and other files remain.

I ask because I made a zip to "unzip with directory structure" on ../SFP/ stereo effect and presets.
On mac would this delete the content of the preset folder, or another folder ? no options to choose to delete or not ?

if you move/copy a folder from a certain place to somewhere where there already is a folder with the same name, you will be asked wether or not to replace it.
so yes, if you copy the folder itself, all 'older files' will be overwritten.

if you open the folder to be copied and select all the files and try to copy them (files), you'll be asked if the files with the same name should be overwritten or not, and the rest will be left untouched.

My question is because I released (one year ago) a pack of filters zipped with directory structure (available on spacef.com) I was wondering if the zip file was convenient to mac users, or if they risk to delete their files if they don't pay attention.
