hello
This afternoon i want to buy a new 'budget' mobo(+ram+cpu) because my old computer is out of order, and i want to know if this is a good one.
Mobo: Aopen ax4B-533 intel 845E 3xDDR SKT 478
Cpu: Intel celeron 1700 mHz 400 fsb s478
Ram: DDR twinmoss 256MP PC-2100
(i'm not sure all numbers and names are 100% correct but i hope you can guess what is meant)
can anyone give a quick answer please?
thanks !

it'll probably work, but a good mobo and a p4 won't set you back but another $75 and it'll probably work a lot better.when i first got my system going,i saved about $25 on a cheap fic mobo w/a via chipset.crash-o-rama was the result.i bought a decent asus board,(again with the via chiipset, duh!)instant working system.(not as good as it could be,but the point is that it worked.saving money was no bargain in that situation)

you're right, what i'd save now on a cheaper mobo will probably not be worth it.
my pulsar card is laying around here unused for almost a month now, and i'm getting a little bit inpatient...
i almost bought the cheap one today but i'll wait some more. as the saying goes here: "bezint eer gij begint"
actually there's also this other thing on my mind: i'm getting a mac powerbook one of these days and i'd love to hook the pulsar to that. but i know that's a very expensive option. maybe i just have to make a more radical choice here, and go for that magma box in a few weeks(or months) and in the meantime not get a pc config at all, leaving pulsar unused until magma box

...?
anyway, i should probably figure this out for myself but wise suggestions like yours are always helpfull.
thanks!
