Did you try the board, i was thinking of using the same board
Have you looked at the serial ata on the board
MAXTOR do a serial ata 160gb drive with floating bearings which is almost silent,
the serial ata can transfer at 150mb.
has ayone used one of these drives, it sounds like the music pc's dream

don't dream (or more exactly, you can dream until 2004).
The musician accessible dream seems to be the scsi ultra 360 interface (360 mb/s). i didn't try this though.

on the link above, the info about SATA III has been removed. It will allow 600 mb/s transfer, specs will be released in summer 2003 (or end 2003) for commercial use in 2004.
So if you take a board with SATA, make sure it is SATA II, which is the current standard (SATA 1 allows only a few % more than current ide with ATA 133)
