Hi everybody , i would like to buy a new mac but i've heard that they are very noisy and that there are problems to fit in two creamware or digidesign cards .
My local audio stuff dealer doesn't even know if they run only with mac os x or with os 9.x too.
Does anybody know a bit more ?
thanks for help

1. they ARE noisy

2. there is a space problem combining two cards via tthe tdm cable, if I'm right the supply or something is in the way.
Discussions are going who's fault this is, however the mac follows the official specs.
Two chained cards doesn't seem to belong to the specs, alas
3. support for OSX not before june 2003, after CW's own statements.
4. however, mac rules.............................................................................................................................

The new dual Mac's suck bigtime...
Out of the first 20 we've recieved so far, 5 of them had to be send back to have a new mainboard installed and two had to have the powersupply replaced !!!
One out of four doesn't work with Protools cards. (And properly not with Creamware either ?)
My advice is to try and get hold of a 933MHz QuickSilver, or wait for the next generation and OS X support...

Lore's question is partialy different I think: he asks about the new Mac's compatibility with OS 9.x. I tried to find info on Apple's site but with no luck... Lore, perhaps you ask a shopassistant at your Apple's store?
[Update]
Regarding:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120171 and the info on compatibility I can say you can run 9.2.2 on the new macs

hi everybdy , thanks for the replys, and Sam thanks a lot for that too , you were right ,i want to upgrade now but i want to use mac os 9.2.2(one upgrade at time

). I'm fed up with my g3 450 mhz and i found that a local mac dealer has the first generation of dual 1ghz processors : 2400 eur without vat and apparently these are far less noisy and they still use old dimms instead of new ddr ram, but i have to check myself : nevere trust dealers

, but there are only 2 mac left.
