I've been running my Pulsar 1 with Logic 5.1 for quite some time now.

At first I was getting the PCI master abort message on the constant then I moved my Pulsar card to the 5th slot and the problem was solved.

NOW,...after like 5 months, I'm getting the message over and over again.

I'm working on some music, then it's like the sound is being turned off. Moving to the Pulsar screen The "PCI MASTER ABORT" message is staring back at me.

ANYONE????

I'm running this on a:

PIII 1Ghz
256 MB
Windows 98.

What kind of chipset you MOBO has? is it Via? or Intel?. Do you share your audio with other audio cards?

Intel chip and no other audio cards involved.

I read this about the master abort: "As far as the master abort goes, basically this means that the kernel has tried to access a PCI device which didn't respond." I also read that (for another PCI device) slot 5 was the one to avoid, but since you got this on another slot anyway, this will probably not be significant...

I also believe that this error can be caused by corrupt drivers. Have you tried the usual reinstallation of SFP ? Are you on 3.1c ?

This is an unusual error. I'm no hardware expert, but to me this sounds like a hardware fault, perhaps with how the card is seated ? Do you take your PC on the road ? Have you cracked the case and made sure all the basics are in order and your card is "happy" in its slot ? Sounds silly, but you never know . . .

But this is all just guesswork though. maybe someone else with more technical knowledge might suggest something ?

I have observed that you get more PCI OVERFLOW and other errors with Logic when using AUDIOINSTRUMENTS mixed with audio and midi tracks. If you are using some try using less and see what happens.
