my computer just broke down

im not shure if its the mobo or the ram that took the dive, either way im buying myself a new mobo/ram. i already got a p4 1,8 ghz"northwood" prossesor. im thinking Asus P4T533-C and 2 x Kingston Value PC1066 256MB RIMM KVR1066X16-8/256.

please comment on this id like to order today

Slightly better performance as the P4B533/P4PE combo with DDR that I usually recommend. But a good choice in case your dealer can deliver the PC1066 RIMMs (from stock!). I would not buy it if your dealer tells you something about ordering the RIMM. This can take weeks, and these without a glimpse of a Pulsar-sound!

That's exactly the setup i have, Asus P4T533-C + 2 x Kingston 256m PC1066, this system totaly rock. Rock stable. I have a P4-2.53 that i can crank it up to 2.81, and it stay cool, i also got a Enermax Whisper 450watts, the kit is pretty silent with 2 x Seagate Baracuda IV.

With fast memory like the PC1066, it is the STS that i see that benefit most, loading of big programs is a couple of times faster than my old CUSL2-C with PC133

tanx for the reply, iv narrowed it down to theses two options.

Asus P4T533-C and 2 x Kingston Value PC1066 256MB RIMM KVR1066X16-8/256

Asus P4B533 + Crucial PC2100 DDR-DIMM 512MB CL2.5 REG (Registered, ECC/REG, 2.5V, 64Meg x 72)

the last option is about 150$ cheaper.

so wich one should i get?

the most important thing for me is stability.

Both are pretty stable, rimm memory is pretty expensive, if you don't use sts samplers, and want to upgrame memory laterz, get P4B, else P4T533-C is very fast with PC1066, faster than the fastest systems with DDR.

But if you put PC800 instead, it is a tiny bit slower than a fast DDR system, P4B533 for example.

should i not care about the fact that P4B533 dosent support ddr333 mhz.
theres so many options tha i cant see clear.

I'm not shure it is not supported... I know it is not officially supported, but i think someone mentioned here on plZ that it was totally working with DDR333, but DON'T take my words for it...

iv just got my package. It turned out my ram was ok so i just ordered the p4b533, that way i saved some money not having to buy new ram. So despite of my computer break down i still got money for a tc-electronics m3000.....mmm..ok..i mean m300.
