Put your creamware card in PCI slot2 (an unshared slot according to intel manual), and assign IRQ from BIOS, leave plugNPray at DISABLED in BIOS also, i recommend IRQ9 if your in standard mode, cuz in Intel manual, they say it the IRQ with the highest priority after the real-time-clock.

Be 100% sure that you have disabled the USB2 from the jumper on your board, cuz this one is not needed, and cause problems.... Don't worry, you'l still be totaly able to use any USB1.1 device using the 2 first USB port of the board. Also, disable COM1 & 2 and also paralel port in bios... It will be rock solid after... Ah, yeah, also disable power management in bios...

You really do not need to run "Standard" mode with this board. IRQ's are handled very well with WinXP and P4B533.

I run this same setup myself... Didn't mess with the bios at all, stuck my Pulsar II in slot 2, installed WinXP normally and everything is working great.

Having up to 24 IRQ's is great.

Marcuspocus : does it mean Pulsar doesn't work with USB 2 ? or is it a "particular setup" tweak ?

Not at all, it only mean that most of the actual board aren't using latest intel chipset including ICH4 which take care of USB2 on a separate path. Most of the motherboard actually use the NEC chip implementation and using this chip, board manufacturer have to use one of the IRQ of one of the PCI slot, so, board using NEC chip have a PCI slot that is shared with it, and since USB2 use LOTS of bandwidth (the whole point of a faster USB), well they use our bandwidth on the PCI bus.

On the contrary, the Intel ICH4 chip have is own path to processor and memory, so it is not causing any problems.
