Hi all,
I'm looking to step up to a P4 system soon and was initially set on an ASUS 533 mobo (probably the DDR ver), but the Abit IT7 has caught my eye. Has less PCI slots than the ASUS, but has more onboard features. Can support up to 12(!) ide devices, up to 10(!!) USB devices (including USB 2.0), as well as 10/100 network and Firewire......the only thing that seems to be missing is SATA.....but that's no biggie really as there are no drives available yet, and I could always get a PCI SATA card at a later date.
If anyone has purchased a IT7 recently I would like to hear your thoughts. At the moment I have a LunaII with A16 Ultra, but I might add a second CW card mid next year (purely for more DSP grunt)

Thanks......Dave

The problem is that all these devices "steals" PCI bandwitdh from the CW cards.

And do you need all that stuff?
You can connect 126 USB devices (or is it 63) to each USB chain.
12 IDE devices ?
DVD player, CDr and 10 HD:s ?

Still it is an Intel chipset (i believe) so it should be good but not optimal for CW cards.
