Creamware devices' preset lists are datebases of knob settings, but the device don't update the preset list. It would be nice if the preset list remembered the last selected preset. Now you cannot see which preset you've previously chosen.

Some solution would be to mirror a preset name on the device. That way, one can at least find the preset back easily.

super! I'm very happy to hear it's not CW that has to implement it. If you can do it - why hasn't anyone thought of it before as an aid to remember the last selected preset. Come here j9k that I give you a kiss

Since SFP, devices which have new style preset lists show the preset you're currently using in the Live Bar. Is that not the same as what you're asking for?

Cheers,

I find it to work the other way round if used intuitively.

As long as the device is in exact the same state as in the preset, the preset shows in the LiveBar. I do not need to know the name actually cos it's still at the preset that I wanted.

Now I move a slider and... I cannot restore to the preset cos the name's dissappeared in the LiveBar.

I find it very convenient to use the LiveBar for Presets, but it looses the preset name just when I'd need it. Another option would be to keep a 'presetname*' when preset in 'presetname' has changed. Most programs do that with their documents.

I do not know if this will change something, when the preset's name is reflected on the device. Maybe that looses the last selected preset name too once is changed. I was hoping the preset name could be saved somehow on the device and remain there until another preset is selected.

How does every other device, without exception, react? It take the current preset you have and flags it as edited, with an asterix *. You can immediately return to your preset - read 'undo'. All of my software, musical or not, and hardware does it. I don't want to standardise CW soft, I just want ease of work

It's there now, in the LiveBar! Or has it always been?
