The second tone poem of the Cafhere’s Walle project. Rustic instrumentation, a hint of Clannad (?) and building up to a faster ending (possibly influenced by Riverdance). I wanted to be a bit more acoustic on this track and I’m still quite pleased with it.
The early settlers in the Caverswall (Cafhere’s Walle) region lived in a stockade to keep out the wolves and bears. Life was harsh but the pace was steady and section one (The Hunters) reflects this. One day Roman soldiers chased a thief through the area, portrayed in the second half of the track (The Hunted).
Confession time! The final few bars of the violin solo at the end was “step-time assisted”!
