With great respect to all of the Planet Z friends and users, and because I’ve seen very little response regarding John’s Cooper little request for economic help to the Z, I would like to ask you guys to get a little more involved into this…

It is the joining together what can do the difference! Think… we are many in here, if we all put a little bit joining efforts together I’m sure we can reach an efficient help. Just think of even nothing but 2$ each, it would make more than $2000. The mater is to be together in it! Everybody can give something like $2… this is THE FORCE!

Nestor, the problem is that $2 would require $10 transfer cost if you don't have a credit card.
Obviously John is setting up something additional with ShareIt. When the button appears I'm certainly gonna use it with pleasure.

cheers, Tom

Maybe not all people who donated put their name in the list

I know, it's expensive to transfer small amounts of money. Anyone who's got tips or hints?

I subscribed to Paypall, and that was quite a job to fix, with all the security steps included and reading all the info on the site, the two mails you get, etc.

Anyway, now I'm waiting for my next creditcard monthly statement, there will be a Member number printed next
to the $1.95 PayPal Membership Fee, which one needs to pay/donate.

So it isn't a two minute thing like Paypall says, and it takes some time to finish the donation.

For your convenience, this is what the second Paypall email says:

Van: service@paypal.com
Aan: <email adres>

Onderwerp: Enter Your Member Number

Dear ............., (name)

This is a reminder that we need you to enter your Member Number.
The credit card to which we sent the Member Number was added to
your PayPal account on 16 August 2002, and ends in 2380.

How to enter your Member Number:

PayPal has charged a $1.95 membership fee to your credit card. You can
obtain and enter your Member Number by following the steps below:

1. In the item description section of your next credit card
statement, your 4-digit Member Number will be printed next
to the $1.95 PayPal Membership Fee. Check your next
statement to find your unique Member Number.

2. Click the link below and type in your unique Member Number:

https://www.paypal.com/MEM-NUMBER

If you access your credit card statement online, it may take up to
4 business days for your Member Number to appear. If you do not have
online access to your credit card statement, please wait for your
printed statement to be mailed to you.*

You will be able to use this funding source after you have successfully
entered your Member Number.

Remember, completing your membership is one of the requirements for
receiving your $5 New Account bonus.

Sincerely,

PayPal Credit Card Services

*PayPal strongly discourages users from calling their credit card
companies in order to obtain their PayPal Member Number before receiving
their monthly statements in the mail. If PayPal receives a complaint from
Visa, MasterCard, or your card issuer regarding your account, your PayPal
account may be permanently closed.

I understand guys, I have the same problem myself  I said this cos I was thinking little people have ansered the mentioned thread. Of course you don't need to answer to be able to help.

What do you think of Western Union? Would it work? Cheers

Guys, thanks again for all the support. Nestor, thanks for the shout, but please don't worry about lack of public response. Those that feel able to donate, and who think it's appropriate, will do so. I don't want to add any more pressure than that. And as Atomic points out, not everyone who donates should be expected to post an "I donated!" announcement!!

So, I had no idea Paypal was so difficult to use. It'd be great if there were a public, free/CHEAP system available allowing transfers of tiny amounts (how about 25 cents each!! The problem is that most of these services (Shareit, Kagi, Paypal) charge a couple dollars plus a percentage for every transaction. So hey, there's a business opportunity for someone out there

If anyone knows of a service allowing "micro-payments", please let me know.

I do this from time to time, buying US records with hidden cash in a something.
It's adventurous, I'm always happy about email by the receiver that they've got it.
There's a lot of envelope piracy going on

But even a letter to US is $3 from here, and imho the horrendous charges for regular bank transfer (minimum $8 from germany) may have something to do with control of international money flow.
The payment services aren't that expensive compared to this.
Western Union is hefty, but they are sometimes the only choice left.
Tnx hubird for the paypal description.

cheers, Tom

Maybe people from the same area could joint together and then send the money. That way you could send more at once using for instance, Western Union. I don’t think, we are many here in Chile, as far as I know I’m the only one for the moment.
