basically it sounds fairly plausible but it could still be a rumor.
VIA forgot to put part of the PCI bus spec in The chipsets. "bus parking" this is why (particularly sound cards) have problems. supposedly they are fixed in 333 and later.

at the end there is a link to some NVidia PCI problems as well.

Careful... from what I've been reading, its ONLY the P4 version of the 333 that has this fix, and the newer KT400 for AMD. I'll still have to test to be sure. But great link, we knew SOMETHING was messed up on their PCI bus for years.

mmmm, will I give VIA another chance with the KT400? don't think so.
Not unless I suddenly become a few sharcs short of a pulsar.
