i just upgrade to XP, but what i can't figure out is how to get my midi to pulsar. in 98 i used Hubi. with that i could go from my keyboard to my midisport usb A in, then to LB1 of Hubi, out LB1 to Creamware 1 and play sound
Diagram form
--Keyboard --> USB Midsport A in -->
using Hubi software go from
--USB Midisport A to LB1
--LB1 to Creamware In

Worked great

Now i have to use midi yoke and midi ox b/c hubi is not xp supported. however, i can't get my sfp Creamware (sequencer) ports to show up in the midi ox routing table.

I have 2 ports open in device manager.
anyone have an idea what is wrong?

thanks
JD

well, i guess xp is limited to 12 ports and since midisport takes 4 and midiyoke takes 8 i have to find another way. when i unplugged my usb cable and rebooted creamware ports appeared.

i've searched the web for virtual midi drivers for xp. other than midi ox i can't find any. also seems like winME could handle 16 ports, but i can only get 11/12 on xp, seems like a step backwards. i don't need alot of ports, just 2 software ports that allow me to route my usd midsport to creamware and out to usb midisport which goes to the Mac running digital performer. anyone have any ideas? i may have to load a software sequencer that sits idle just to get my ports and routing.

MMM, I hate to say it but I think you need you rethink the midi routing in your studio, although using midi loopback worked for you, its hardly whats called an elegant solution, and just adds another thing to go wrong in your studio.

How exactly do you want your midi connected up, you probably said in the post, but I didn't follow.

I am I right in assuming that you use the midisport cus pulsar midi sucks, but you want to be able to play your synths in realtime occasionally?
