For me it says:
Installation error
Cannot start CreamWare Installer
(error code 0001)
I updated the drivers and I'm running XP Pro. The archive seems to be just fine.
Marcus, which tweak did you change? My XP is also a bit tweaked and I wonder if that's the problem.

Check http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/service411.htm There's Cryptographic Services for WinUPdate, and another one for other software: Application Management. I suggest Application Management is enabled

Most installers work over network as the installers search the files in relation to the installers location.
Now I got a second problem. I have a Pulsar without ProPack (has been ordered from CW over a month ago!!!) and the Registration window for Effects Package II keeps popping up when starting Cubase and XTC. Is this a bug or is there a way I can close it for good?
It seems to come once for every plugin included in the EP2 every time I run Cubase. Gets annoying.

I got the keys and read the readme. The problem is that I don't have the key for Effects Package 2 and it keeps asking for it. It's pretty annoying to close 20-30 windows before I can start Cubase. It seems that it doesn't register plugins in any non-registered state but keeps asking for the keys instead.
The earlier Creamware installers worked over network and therefore I assumed this would do so too. Now I know.

Hi, it's me again.
New error messages when trying to install SFP.
Cannot start software because board(s) or driver not properly installed. Please check Installation.
and after clicking OK
Installation error
Cannot start CreamWare Installer
(error code 0004)
There are Pulsar and Elektra in the computer, both running the SFP drivers, no conflicts. Luna 2.5 works fine with both cards. I've checked all the services and other stuff mentioned under this topic. I also tried the installer under Setup/Bin with the same results.
One other intresting detail, the SFP UnInstaller doesn't work without Creamware hardware. Atleast not on my other computer. I'm not that suprised..

That's right, Sub! (I already wrote this, so I'll post it anyways...)
about your registration popup problem:
Cubase detects every installed XTC plugin on boot. SFP installs every plugin. Delete the ones you don't have, check very carefully in your registrations page and the shop, to see which device you own and which you don't. Don't delete too much
You're lucky in XTC mode. One way. Cos in OS mode, you can delete every device you don't have. Including mixers, effects, synths...
Might be a good marketing policy of Creamware. Every one will get to see all devices, also in the comparison chart, you/every buyer can now have a glimpse of their best stuff, even if he's only got a small card. Nobody looses, you don't get less devices. But the road to upgrades is more appealing, looks better, don't you think?
Hopefully there's an update, cos it sure hasn't been simple install yet. And I've only tried the Creamware stuff this far. Right now I'm thinking how to install 3rd party devices into SFP. They will load if they don't require extra files, they keep their OS's version options (no quick routings, preset list etc).
I think I'm gonna do next:
-If you have 3.01, install 3.1 and convert the presets to 3.1. Backup your presets and free devices and other 3.01 stuff which hasn't renewed in 3.1, including their presets.
-Then get a fresh XP, get latest drivers, install 3.1, restore your backups.
If you don't do it now, your old stuff may get hard to retreive.

I have the same problem. I can't start the Setup .exe with Win XP. But I learned that if you right click the exe file and choose Run As, you are given the choice of which user account you want to run the program. The first choice is Current User and the second is Administrator or another option. The check box associated with the Current User is to protect against unauthorized program activity. Leave this box checked and proceed. The installation begins and after you have installed the new driver and rebooted and started the installer again you will come to installing the Keys. They won't install! Damn....with the Scope keyset or without! It says "Cannot open registry file". The installer won't start at all with Admin rights.
