I have a Pulsar2 card that I've been trying to get to work on my AbitKT7 Mainboard. This board uses the Via Chipset and of course the Pulsar stops working on me.
After calling Creameware support I was told that the Pulsar card will not work correctly on a Mainboard with VIA chipset and that I would have to get a new Mainboard with an 850 Intel Chipset.
So now I'm reading posts about VIA 4 in 1 chipset. I found the drivers for this on the net. Can someone tell me if after installing the VIA 4 in 1 chipset on my mainboard if I will be able to use the Pulsar.
I'm trying to avoid buying a new Mainboard as that means more $$$ to spend.
Any help??

Via 4 in 1
Hi, I am planning to purchase a Pulsar II within this coming week, and I was wondering if the most recent Via 4-1 drivers fix the issues of the past. I own a MSI KT3 Ultra (not Ultra 2) and it is a KT333 chipset and I was wondering if this board has problems with Pulsars? I am very tight on budget(college student) and I have to suffer in order to crank out another mobo (preferably A7N8X). I would like to hear as many success stories with Via mobos and your solutions please! Thank you~
well...that mobo will most likely work, just not as well as the nforce.watch out for shared irq's.try different slots if you have problems.really,$150 will save a lot of trouble, but try things with the one you've got.read all the tips about installing and tweaking windows.a couple of searches and gleaning of the forums(especially tips and tricks for the os and general discussion/tech talk for install procedure) and you may even find that partial performance is still plenty.you may be quite happy for a while before you upgrade at a more plentiful time.
