Hello,
I'm new to the Scope world and looking to grab a card in the near future. I have a couple questions before I get going. I've been doing some background research and I understand STS will only run on 32bit versions of Scope in a 32bit OS so I'll be putting the card in one of my industrial backplane builds running on XP which should be suitable.
I'm very interested in STS as I have a large AKAI cd library. Reviews online from the 00's seem to indicate SCOPE handles these well and they're pretty accurate to how they sound on an S3000, etc. What's your experience with STS in Scope V7 in terms of stability and performance? How many voices should I expect from a 14/15 DSP card? (also I'm aware there's a couple files I need to grab from V5 to make it work in V7)
Same question for the classic synth plugins. I understand this is variable, but my frame of reference is an Oasys PCI. Great sound, but running anything close to a full song's worth of synths is a DSP squeeze and requires active consideration to not run out of resources. Bearing in mind that I don't have any familiarity with Scope cards, would running a few monosynths, a couple conservatively voiced polysynths, and drums be out of the question on a single card or would this be a breeze? If I like the environment after trying it out I wouldn't mind grabbing more cards, I'd just like a somewhat clear idea of what I can get out of just one.
I'll probably make a separate post in the buying/trading section but in case anyone comes across this I'll be looking for a 14/15 DSP card if anyone is interested in selling.
Looking into a new Scope setup, a few questions
