Xite setup - same computer as ScopePCI cards or not?

Hello
I promise I have looked for the answer to this before starting a new topic!
I am lucky enough to have an Xite-1 on the way from the SonicCore sale.
My current system:
3 x Pulsar Cards
MSI Gamimg 3 Z97 motherboard
Intel i7-4790K 4GHz
32GB RAM
Win7 Pro 64bit
SSD system drive
Additional large drives for audio file storage and programme extras etc.
DAW - SAWStudio (unusual but fab software with a loyal customer base)
This system works great and is completely stable, but although the Pulsar cards seem to be built like tanks, at 20+ years old they can't last forever. And the extra dsp power wil be fun.
So my question - how should I best upgrade. Can I add the Xite to the existing setup and switch from the existing PCI Card Scope environment to the new one? Should I disable the Scope PCI cards? Or should I bite the bullet and get a new PC for the Xite? Another Z97 with the 4790 processor seems like a good choice still judging but other threads. These are available at a decent price I suspect. Maybe there is a better option seeing as I wouldn't need the three PCI slots.
Thanks in advance, I so appreciate this forum having been here for, well probably close to 20 years by now. Happy New Year to you all.
Jonathan

you can install the XITE on the same system.
the only conflict with the PCI cards would be opening a project made on PCI cards with the XITE. if the PCI files are in place, the project will load from the PCI files, which won't work correctly.
you could use a newer system with the XITE, if you wished.

Gary, is it possible to run SCOPE PCI and SCOPE XITE in parallel on the same computer and connect the two via ASIO, ADAT or Zlink?
Congrats on getting an XITE-1, Jonathan! I for one recently got SAWStudio!

Thanks Gary
Hi sunmachine - SAWStudio has a bit of a steep learning curve I suppose but it is well worth it IMO. I've used Bob Lentini's products vrtually since he started releasing them and I wouldn't want to change.
Best Regards
Jonathan

Yeah, I'm already in love with it.

Does scope PCI & XITE really work in parallel - simultaneously on the same pc ?
Or is it just possible to have them installed in parallel on the same pc, but not running simultaneously ?
(I can confirm the later, but the first one sounds interesting to me)

sure it's possible. it's probably an unecessary complication, but it can be done.

One more question - the old chestnut Win10 64 or Win7 64?
With my Pulsar card setup I kept getting crashes to blue screen (Scope.sys issue) when trying the Asio drivers with my DAW, so I went back to Win7. Does this same issue exist with an Xite-1 I wonder?
I have Win7 and Win10 on separate C drives so it is easy for me to try both and see I guess.
Best Regards

I'll stick to Win7, it works fine.

I tried to use the ASIO I/O in SAWStudio64 and got the BSOD as well (Win10 64-bit, SCOPE 7, XITE-1). No problem with SAWStudio 32-bit so far.

I've got some VSTs that like 64bit, I know I could use JBridge or something but I keep things simple if I can. I use JBridge for old 32bit only apps in a 64bit environment and it wirks great for that.
I'll stick to Win7 until a SonicCore update comes along.

Did you already report the issue directy to Sonic Core? They should be able to reproduce it with the SAWStudio64 demo.

I also run Scope on Win7/32 together with SAWStudio.
All 64bit plugins (there are some nice ones indeed) are on MacMini M1 connected via a Motu 828 MK2 USB (Adat).

Thanks Lunaman
The separate computer for 64 bit plugins as Astroman describes is an interesting approach as well. I'm happy with Win7 64 for now though.
