I have bought an Asus Tusl-c and want to use it with a pulsar1 and a pulsar2. Which PCI slots and which IRQ are the best for this setup?

Hi,
I've got a CUSL2-C, which is basically the same MB, except yours accepts Tulatin cpu's. At the moment I've got a Luna II in slot three, and in the BIOS I've set it to IRQ 5/not shared. This works fine for me in Win98SE & WinXP.
In the past I've had a Korg 1212I/O in slot 3 with the same BIOS setting, and also a SBlaster Live! in slot 2 with the IRQ left to AUTO in the BIOS. This also worked fine.
AFAIK slots 1 & 5 are shared, and from my research not recommended for audio cards.

I would put your cards in slots 1 and 5 they are shared on that board, and creamware cards like to share the IRQ.

go into the BIOS and force the slots to an IRQ (i use IRQ 5, it is quite low priority though you could use 10 or 11 if they are free, and they have higher priority)

IRQ priority is 0 1 (2) 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 3 4 5 6 7

there used to be only 8 irqs in the old days of 8086s and the "Standard" became to kludge together 2 IRQ chips in a daisy chain fashion.
the IRQs on the second chip are redirected to irq2, thet is why the order is stramge looking.

i use slots 1 and 5 and IRQ 9 for my Luna + Scope I . Works just great .

Slots1 & 5? How about STDM cable?

sure , STDM is connected too .

I put my two cards into slot1 and 5. But then I have to see that the card which is in slot one is rather close to the cooler of Matrox G400 DH. Could such a close setup harm
my pulsar in slot1?
Can I use my two cards in slot 3 and slot 5 (both with interrupt 10) as good as in slot 1 and 5?
