Hi,
When i try to play some samples on sts3000,i do get creaking sounds. i have downloaded the new sts3000 for v3.01. and i do use win XP pro in standard pc mode.
maybe do i have less ram? 256mb but the pulsar is empty nothing loaded in cubase either. and normally it should be enough ram and power left for at least playing one track loaded in sts3000.
my conf.
p-3 600 512c (100mhz)
asus p3v-4x
256 sdram in 100mhz
geforce 32 mb g.card
quantum plus lm HD
i do have also the newest drivers installed like for geforce for xp bios update etc...
i just have the pulsar2 on pci board nothing else. and i closed also the other unused pci board in bios!
p.s: i also have changed the via settings with the wpcre12a for my board(but that helped me for the "PCI CAPACITY LIMIT REACHED" messages.. just to let u know.!
thanks from now on and please help.!

I've the same problem.
I resolve it reinstalling all the pulsar software.
Now if i play the sts 3000 with keyboard all works fine but if i use a sequencer (nuendo) often some sample don't sound good

I do have a sts 3000 and luna 2 an I use it extensively, but I'm not sure what you mean by 5/10"creek". Can you explain? But I do have a problems of "clicks" which I have a hard time solving...

During the execution of the track there are some creek (5/10). If i try to transform a midi track into an audio track, i must make many attempt.

The problem is probably in the "Sequencer midi source" becose if i connect the midi in of the sts directly with the "Luna midi source" it work well.
Some idea???

Something to do with hardware performance...I'm pretty sure of this. This is not a 'creamware bug' but a badly designed hardware. And i know it is very frustrating, since you cannot do anything except buy new hardware...And even then, we have to be ingineers to know all those thing!
Maybe the memory doesn't have enough bandwidth, or the BUS, or the chipset is not well designed. Lots of possibility, a network card taking resources... A bad video driver (ex.: ATI drivers).
I, for example, use also the STS3000, on a Asus CUSL2-C, P3-1ghz
512meg of CAS2-2-2 kinston ram
IBM DTLA 45gigs ATA100 drive
adaptec aha-2940U2W scsi card
4.3gig 10000RPM LVD scsi drive (for talking with external hardware sampler like EMU E6400 or S6000, not used at all by zindoze)
scsi dvd
scsi cdrw
scsi cdrom
2 network card (1x100mb/s for lan + 1x10mb/s for internet)
Pulsar1
Luna2
Luna IOBox
Matrox G450
And I have no problem whatsoever except the 'known' bug in STS, even using 400meg program in it. All this with ULLI@4ms, asio2 16bits, 44.1khz, so it really seems that reverbs and sampler are the 2 most critical and hardware sensitive devices there is.
Don't deseperate, but next time you'll upgrade hardware (cpu, mobo, ram) just take real good care as of what you'll buy. Money is enough hard to earn without having to spending it on bad products.

I'll tell you right now - I had the P3V4X - solid board, but really, the worst board I have EVER used for PCI performance. You'll see PCI Capacity Reached error messages over and over, I suggest you install the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers (fixes a ton of bugs on the via chipset), and simply avoid all reverbs, delays and possibly even samplers in your Pulsar projects until you get an Intel chipset on your new machine... I could only stand the limitations of that board for about 2 months before I sold it off and got the CUSL2 which was just awesome in comparison.

Probably my hardware is the cause of the "Creek" but im not the only who have this problem.
In this forum, in 2 topic we are in 4.
The problem is serious.
I buy a luna 2 card for funny, not for work but my money are real. I use it to compose my song and STS 3000 is an absolutely necessary instrument.
Creamware don't release a list of compatible hardware.

1. Never use Win2k for audio.

It has limitations that Win98/SE/ME/XP don't have.
2. If you're having problems and must work, use Win98/ME. It's the only OS where all my audio hardware works (I have problems with other audio hardware but not Creamware, even in XP), and everything works there, Win98/ME. Win2k/XP takes quite a bit more tweaking to get near the same performance, if you know how to tweak it, then it can be good.

Gemboy, I am sure I can get your system working. Post another topic with the details of how, and when it "creeks" along with all your hardware/software, and I'll take a look and give a reply.

I had a pulsar1 before, but never had crickles or pci capacity limit reached problems. BUT i had another problem after a time wich didn't change the sample rate anymore.it was bloked on 44.1 and never could get it to other sample rates. while trying that it was blinking on and off.
that was my only problem. and i was sending it to creamware they checked but they said it was ok. i got it back and it was still the same. but the bad thing is before i was buying the pulsar1 i was e-mailing creamware to recommend me pc configuration for it.!
and i was getting a recommendation for asus mainboard. but didn't get any info about the via chipset! wich is not good

so then i was getting the Pulsar2 .
yeah i could change easily the samplerate no more problems with it. BUT on the other site new problems like above and Pci capacity limit.. stuff
i think so that i really have to change the board instead of trying to work vith via chipsets.!
but i will upgrade to P4 and first of all i will get recommandations here for the configurations.!
Maybe Subhuman can recommend us a very good and stabil configuration for P4
thx..
