Hello, just took delivery of what seems to be a killer--the a16 ultra--I'm running it on ADAT lightpipe to Pulsar 2 plus. I'm attempting to use the 8 pulsar mixer record buses for the first time, and can't seem to change the record bus assignment on the channel strip within Pulsar Mixer. Channel 1 is set to 7/8, all others are off. Any suggestions?

thanks, justin

Let me add to that last post with another problem I'm having--every time I try to connect ADAT B Source to Pursar Mixer (for ins 9-16) I get nasty electronic pops on connected channels. Channels 1-8 (A) work great. Lightpipe cables have been tested. Any suggestions welcome--thanks in advance.

I have experienced a similar snap, crackle and pop sound with the 9-16adats

how is your background app set up

Thanks for writing. Man, even the audio recorded through 1-8 is snapping at me upon playback (not as severe as 9-16 though, where I can't even make the connection without wild digital hell.)

My background is ADAT source A and Pulsar2 Analog Source ( Pulsar 2 plus balanced outs) into PulsarMixer, as well as 3 synths (vectron, Lightwave, EDS8i) and wave source. Each mixer channel direct out into ASIO Dest (to Logic). Two sets of monitor outs (Std & Ctr) out to Pulsar2 Analog Dest and ADAT A Dest. Also, ASIO Source and Analog Source are patched back into stereo mixer channels for monitoring. Let me know if MIDI will help at all.

The ins/outs on the Plus balanced are perfectly clean and sound great; it's just the ADAT channels /A16Ultra that I'm having problems with.

Sound similar at all?

Alright! Just solved the crackle problem; it was a sample rate conflict (A16 and Pulsar both set to master). Newbie error with the A16; didn't realize it was competing with the Pulsar. Perhaps this is part of your problem as well?

Clicks, crackles, and static on the ADAT ports are almost always digital clocking issues or cables/dust.

1. One Digital Master per digital system.
2. Clean, non-bent cables.
3. No dust on your litepipe optical lenses, on the cables, or your card. That's why Pulsar/SCOPE etc cards come with little plugs in the ADAT ports when you get 'em.

Glad you got it
