high quality software recording.
Hey all i have an isseu.
i create most of my music on hard ware using flstudo as my sequencer
of coarse i use the vsts and software from sfp.
i noticed my track sound a bit better then afther recording
when i want to record my tracks i press play and record them using audctiy
i noticed a small decrease in audio qualty i am currentley using a wave out module in my spf.
is there a module that has better audio qualty like maby and asio out?
i am not sure how to set up but i feel when i am creating audio the quality is a bit higher

for Scope HW I/O`s 16/24bit (Wave/Asio) and 32bit(Asio) check manual!
your DAW no support ASIO? check Deus AsioPro to make it ASIO compatible...

Re: high quality software recording.
Try to use asio, not wav. Audacity can also handle that.
Wav isn't good with timing and sometimes stretches/glitches. (Wav is ok for getting browser-audio into scope)
Make sure, you don't have some additional effects or doubled-paths in your setup. (I'm writing this, because I once had it

Re: high quality software recording.
My guess is that FLStudio is already using ASIO?

I have Audacity on several machines.nebelfuerst wrote: Thu Feb 09, 2023 5:34 am Try to use asio, not wav. Audacity can also handle that.
The latest version is installed on my Win10 laptop,- and it doesn´t support ASIO at all.
MME, Direct Sound and WASAPI is what I can choose from.
I double checked last nite.
Please advise how to use ASIO w/ Audacity, if possible.

You're partly right
I'm using Audacity under linux the last years, my brain must have mixed alsa with asio.
Many years ago, I had Audacity with asio, as I tried (and failed) to modify Audacity for my needs.
The reason for this was, that I compiled it myself... a way which should also work today:
https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/asi ... rface.html
see chapter Non-distributable ASIO support in Audacity

Re: high quality software recording.
Just for fun, I just compiled audacity with asio again.
The cmake-part was tricky, as that "conan" packages must be 1.x, not 2.x.
Unfortunately, I crashes the W10-machine, where the bluescreen shows "scopepci.sys"...
It does work with asio4all or an RME card, but not with scopedevices being enabled.
I have not time to fix this now.
If some of you wants to give it a try, let me know.

Re: high quality software recording.
That means it's accessing the 64bit driver out of the 32bit memory space, known issue with current drivers. Let us hope we see an update from Holger soon, I'm ready to be productive with my Xite box soon.

Re: high quality software recording.
I tested it with PCI scope14 dsp on W10. My Xite runs W7/32, where Audacity cannot be compiled with Asio.
As crashing with bluescreen is a Nogo, there is room for improvement on the driver side.

Re: high quality software recording.
Yes, I am limited on what I can run on the Scope PCI side (no VCV rack 2, newer versions of bidule and many other applications) and have put off building my Xite box in the hope that the current beta would give us a driver update. 2023 is a good year for coincidences, let us remain hopeful.
Re: high quality software recording.
is the v7 asio driver bluescreening?
Re: high quality software recording.
It will with certain applications (certain ASIO implementations like portaudio).
