Launching Max 4 Live Editor Crashes ASIO Driver

Hi All
Does anyone use Max 4 Live?
I'd like to start making some plugins but when I launch the editor from within Ableton the ASIO driver crashes. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if they managed to fix it? If so how?
I can work around it by closing scope and then reloading it while Ableton is still running so its not a huge problem but it is a bit annoying.
Its strange that once I've reloaded Scope, I can launch the M4L editor as many time as I want without it crashing the ASIO driver, it seems to only do this the first time the M4L editor is launched after loading Ableton.
Thanks
