I’m trying to load akai sample CDs and programs etc.
I’ve installed the aspi layer but it still fails.
Searching in here I see mentions of akai.dll and a cdacces file needed.
Those links are now broken.
Can someone point me to those files.
Or someone who works with the sts uses scope 7 and has those files and loads akai samples fine. Could you share those files to me.
I use Windows xp 32bit.
Thanks.

Sorted it. Need to open the install.bat file with the “run” command and add a space and add “XP32” to command.
Tedious

It’s explained here..
https://storage.microsemi.com/en-us/spe ... a2_exe.php
my command line looked slightly different but basically what ever it says when you point to the install.bat you add a space and XP32 (depending on your os and for me it’s XP 32bit)

Cheers Dante. I looked there first. Have a shortcut to scoperise I often look at first... the really important thing with installing the aspi layer is this!
“Need to open the install.bat file with the “run” command and add a space and add “XP32” to command.”
That information could be made more clear/blatant/obvious..
Rather than just double clicking on it!!!
It is in the readme file of the drivers really badly explained... though that link I shared explained it rather well..

Re: Loading Akai samples/programs/cds
When you have a copy of CD Xtract available or find one,- it converts AKAI CD samples/programs directly into Creamware STS files.
Latest version was v4.5.3 (feb. 2009) and it runs well on Win XP.
https://cdxtract.en.uptodown.com/windows
The company seems to be out of biz, website is gone ...
So, when you google, you might find other places to get the application ...
I myself, I still own a legal copy for Windows though.
It already helped converting my AKAI library for Steinberg Halion 2 in the past,- also converting AKAI and EMU for Kontakt.
just sayin´
