ScopeRise is back. Slightly different deployment and content philosophy, but basically the same. No mail-out, just the Web Site.
http://www.hitfoundry.com/
I consider it a work in progress especially the Scope 7 article and welcome any additional content (PM me) because I haven't delved too deep into it as yet but it should be a main topic of interest and forum discovery. Especially the QSSG if anyone knows how that works Id be interested.
So issue 27 is up !

Back ? How can it be back ? To be back, it must first leave ! And it must not go away !
I've got several ScopeRise browser bookmarks for reading unfindable info anywhere else. Like the S|C reverbs details here :
http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_20/scp_mast.htm.
Luckily, the link still works !
And the amazing amount of issues about and around Scope :
http://www.hitfoundry.com/archives/
Scope users should be very grateful to people who make web sites about Scope and its device profusion ! They are mines for essential infos.
Thanks, Dante ! And yes, the v7 deserves ScopeRise back !

Congrats and thx !
Reading the SCOPE 7 article ...
SC-Channel Stereo: "...
Note the LS and HS bands have a Bell switch to change the shape of compression."
Sure? Those are EQ parameters and change EQ band characteristics (bell / shelving).
SC-QSSG: Tab/Link not working unfortunately ... maybe you can fix that please.
just sayin´ ...
I enjoy reading all the other now.

best
Bud

I noticed that the 'SC-QSSG' section in v7 issue is not yet done... The misterious SC-QSSG...
I understand it's a 4 output (2 in front, 2 behind) autopan, right ? One should have surround monitors to appreciate.

I've had a play with that but certainly no expert. Seems like an advanced beat syncable tremolo with surround sound capability and attack/trigger controls?

Thank you all for the support and contributions. My research - Google plus childhood experience of Music Concrete - indicates that the Shepard generator should generate a continuously rising or descending tone. This could be useful sound effect for example in a sci-fi movie as a sound effect for a UFO take off or landing. If you think of say a note glissando from C3 to G4 over 10 seconds repeated every 2 seconds and as each voice finishes it starts again at the bottom note - you get a continuously rising effect. Each of the 8 notes is always rising but at a different pitch stage of the gliss.
I tried to remember which famous piece of music this was in - something like Stockhausens Hymnen but I couldn't find it.
Anyway point being - I tried to replicate this on QSSR with its start and end note settings etc . But couldn't get it working.

This is what I thought first. I was very excited because a Shepard tone generator is an awesome idea for Scope ! Maybe, Faxi who loves drones could build some kind of Shepard tone generator synth ? Would be brilliant !
I've found a good explanation here :
https://www.vox.com/videos/2017/7/26/16 ... epard-tone
And here with a good example :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQlrSvnG3dg
But the QSSG cannot generate any sound. However, it has an audio input. If you watch the level of the 4 outputs and set it with a sine lfo (for instance), you'll see the 4 output levels rising and lowering, one after the other, just like if the sound is rounding in circle. So, to me it looks like a surround autopan. But I don't have surround system !
If S|C called it 'Space Shepard', then it should generate a continuous sound going from (for instance) left to right. But I didn't obtained that...

For the moment, I don't have more things to say about it.

I think you are right JoPo taking another look, I had misinterpreted the Trigger note and Restart note to be related to glissande. My tests yielded similar results to yours and were more about panning than pitch.

A couple of updates - the Time Machine Klaus Schulze interviews now has 6 parts (previously only 2)
http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_27/timemach.htm
And the Issues index now includes latest edition :
