Share your modular kickdrum patching tips!

I decided to go full modular. Started building a kickdrum patch now.
If you have some tips to share with regards to patching up a kickdrum modular or percussion modular please do

Personaly I have good results with Flexor CURVE and SQUEEZE modules. I use a seperate ADSR for the squeeze modulation.
Also short AD Env to the FM input of the NLB Saw Osc adds some extra punch.
I also use a mixer to mix the SAW and the SINE sounds together.
( NLBSaw -> TRIN/SIN -> MIXER  and NLBSaw -> MIXER )
Tonight I'll try to add some noise.

				Hi,
i'm not sure what type of kick you are after but i think in general
(of course there are several different methods that yield good results)
you need only one sine oscillator (try the fm osc, or one that offers sync input) , and a number of envelopes.
You may find the multi-stage envelopes useful to modulate pitch and the vca.
Study commercial kick samples in a wave editor and create similar timbres with an oscilloscope.
I think the modular is the best environment for such work.

Thanks for your tips. I am putting them into practice.
Never used an oscilloscope before in my modular patching

I'm actually creating a pretty cool modular sequencer now. I can even use my Launchpad to control it (somewhat

.
fun fun fun.

Yes I love them! Its just not easy using them with a modular sequencer I think.

You can use them via modular midi output ... And bring back Kick Me audio signal in modular...

I'm interested in your launchpad sequencer, too.
But I'm getting a bug for a good kick due to this thread.

How do I send a midi note-on and off from a gate signal ?

use the mds-8, it has midi outputs.
Otherwise you need a gate to midi note converter which is not provided in the standard modules.

But why use kick-me and not design your own kicks?
I never liked kick-me as a kick design device...

This is the control part of the sequencer I am (trying) to build.

The signals from the PS32 go through the PS32 SIGNAL SYNC module where I delay the signal untill the end of the ramp. You can control the range of the PS32 there also. In the modular I attached the right side only responds to bank changes on the PS32 module. So only patterns 1,2,3,4.
The RAMP module has some ramps for timing. Also mixed through a matrix to give loads of options combined with the pattern matrix.
I'm sure it can be improved so I am looking for feedback!
