I know that the answer to this is Both!.

However!

I Have used the Modular 3 for a while and want to expand with some more modules, the Modular 4 costs like 125euro for and upgrade while the flexor is 225euro.
My question is then: Does the modular 4 add anything more functionality to the shell that is not in modular 3? Larger MRC?

I cant afford both, but would like to aquire one of them for now. My gut is going towards the flexor, but i would love to hear if there is anything that makes the Modular 4 a absolutely must!

flexor no decision, mod 4 does have some new cool modules but nothing like the incredible unique sound and variety flexor offers, if i had to let everything go and keep only one thing from scope that would b it

But modular 4 is in other just more modules, not any GUI enhancements!

So all in all.. its no changes to the shell as there was between modular 2 and modular 3!
Then i will go for the Adern Flexor as a start.. the sound just sounds awesome!!

Flexor 3 is from the Modular 3 times.
But Modular 3 is recommended over modular 2 .

I just bought FleXor 3 a few months ago. It is an AWESOME package! I'm still learning it. I have to admit I thought I could just use FleXor with Modular III but I really wanted the CZ-101 oscillators so I just bought Modular IV. I hate to tell you this but the CZ-101 oscillators are awesome and totally worth the upgrade.

you can draw the cz osc in the wave draw module and then morph to the last wave just like the cz osc does

for a truely useable cz module it needs the 8 part envelopes to do the phase modulation to get the true sound

so in the wave draw you can set different single cycles and then modulate through them

which can also give you the same type of sound

but you have then millions of single cycles available for this and if you want smooth morphs then i can generate them in tables

First rule of Goverment spending.
Why buy one when you can have two for twice the price...
