hey guys recently i installed 64 bit 5.1.2708-rc PCI, and in lots of my big projects im getting repeated crackles/pops. Tryed a bunch of things within cubase with no success but solution i found so far is switching latency setting in scope from my usual 4ms/44.1 khz to 7ms/44.1 khz, this seemed to fix the issue . Is this common or did i maybe do a bad scope installation? cheers

cracks/pops in cubase with new scope
Re: cracks/pops in cubase with new scope
there are many things that might be the problem, most likely there's a set-up issue that's less than optimum. do you have the os's graphics features disabled? aero and all the other window enhancements look cool but they eat lots of resources. you're running Scope as administrator, correct?
Re: cracks/pops in cubase with new scope
yes its in administrator, i disabled the aero and stuff, didnt fix the issue but thanks for the tip, anything to speed things up is good. im thinking mayb mistake from the copying over asio and stuff, went back to installation instructions where to uninstall the registry entry and now i went in registry and see entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run/StartScopePci
should i mayb delete that?
should i mayb delete that?

Check out the last post from Jimmy in http://forums.planetz.com/posting.php?m ... 6&p=270107
He gives some setting that might worth a try.
They worked for me.

Re: cracks/pops in cubase with new scope
Well thanks there Bro.
That took me an entire week off and 2 bottles of Jager to figure that out.
Also worth noting is the Spread Spectrum shoud be disabled if you are Overclocking.
When enabled it can cause random spikes on larger RAM usage with sampled instruments.
I found that out the hard way at a gig.
Loaded up a new Library of strings and it worked fine, but at the Gig I used the entire template and got nasty pops. Taking the strings out of the template fixed that.
The next day the x64 GuRu's using Hollywood Strings explained it to me.
Good Luck Bro's.........
