Hi,

I just wondering if it is possible to add more inputs to the XITE. It seems there are only 16 digital audio-IOs, 2 analog IOs and 1 midi-IO.

I use a scope and pulsarII card and have 32 ADAT Ios, 4 SPDIF, 4 analog and 2 midis.

Two midis-IOs are essential! One for the hardwarecontroller and One for a keyboard to record.
16 IOs seem to be quite enough (one input is used for talkback mic), indeed I have only 16 preamps connected at the moment. But when I wanted to record a band live sometimes, this wouldnt be enough.

Additional question:
Is it possible to use more than those very few 120 controllers for the 4869 mixer?!?
I could use 2x184 controllers with my hardware controller.

I too miss the 3 x MIDI I/O's I had using 3 x cards.
A good old fashioned hardware patchbay can add plenty of MIDI.
I am using an ancient DMC MX-8.

Perhaps emailJurgen or Holger and ask what they have in store for us...

Yeah a midi patch bay and an A16.

I just sold one of my A16U's because I don't really need all of the I/Os anymore.
I would love to see an AES/EBU expansion option though.

a madi expansion for the xite is needed - high channel counts and its used alot in the professional audio world (at least in denmark), so it would be a way for SC to aim towards serious recorders (im, talking track counts here, im sure we are all pretty serious about our music even though it might be 1 channel audio! )

in case your controller is a Mackie unit you might check Wolf's mixers, which supports the respective protocol.

Can't you use the z-link and the adat at the same time? So one A-16 hooked up with Z-link, a second A-16 with adat.
That would give 32 IO.

yep, it's possible, 16 ADAT and another 16 via zLink

ah, nice. I never had the time to check whether it worked or not...
