How much power does a Pulsar2 PCI card need? (PSU Related)

Post by Andy_F »

Im trying to work out whether i am putting too much strain on my PSU. Its a 430W Antec

Just wondering if anyone knows how much the Pulsar 2 cards require?

Or if anyone has a similar setup/rough idea what this will need?

I have...
2x Pulsar2 cards, 2x UAD-1e, 1x TC Powercore Element (soon to be going!),
PCIe16 NVidia Graphics card (Passive)
2 SATA HDD, 1x IDE HDD (old one originally put into new pc for the sake of it, can go if need be)
1x IDE DVD/CD Drive
CPU Cooler is one of those big copper Zalman things
Various fans and USB cables for mouse, keyboard, controller keyboard, dongles

Ive recently been getting some glitches and whilst im not convinced the PSU could be causing it, this is something i'd feel better about if i knew im not over straining the power supply.

Much less than i expected!

In case anybody else is wondering or sees this looking for info.. i have found that the TC Powercore PCI uses 10-20W max load and also this from UA

UAD-1: 15 Watts
UAD-1e: 9 watts
UAD-2 Solo: 3.5 Watts
UAD-2 Duo: 5 Watts
UAD-2 Quad: 7 Watts
