my p22`s say :

yes definitely
the fog is gone...
also the new ...09-version has more kickin bass and deeper clearer 3d,
especially in the highs...
and all the "old" plugs do benefit from this dsp optimization
realy fun
v5 is worth every euro

i don't think that there is change in audio quality

In XITE-1 there's a definate change and I used an old set of monitors just to make sure.
I am not sure what caused this, nor do I care, as long as it's there...

change in audio quality? xite might be better in sound quality outs/ins than a scope pci board because of better cable and plugs and less quality loss.
not sure 100%.
there must be specific tests and detailed results acoustical as well iun order to be sure.
for example quality of a/d convertion of the pci boards vs xite and other................

What could be changed: DSP code for mixing algorithm ETC.
What could not be changed except in xite.
DACS
OP AMPS and associated circuitry and components.
there have been massive gains in both of these areas in the last 10 years so I expect those got changed for the better.

XITE-1 sounds better even in my powered stage monitors.
Since I still use the A16U's I can only assume it is internal DAC as Brotha' Man Neutron mentioned.
When I first turned it on I was concerned about removing my hardware mixer for reasons of condensing the rig.
When I put on my headphones I immediately heard much more details in the synths. I then went to the sampled content and confirmed my suspicions. It sounded much clearer, and when using EQ's and other Dynamic plugs the cuts I use for EQ and widening I always choose with the Stereo Expander jumped right out of the mix and smaller amounts are more audible, so yes there's a difference, and yes I am a happy camper.
I am sure when SDK 5.0 is released many here will be happy.
Hell I might even try to become a Scientist/SDK Developer.
I will get a white Coat and a clipboard so I can look like the guys in the Roland and UAD promotional Videos.

The easiest way to compare the ADC's is just to A/B them no? In fact you could give routing back & forth via ADAT a shot even so see if sourcing form Scope cards into Xite sounds the same as Xite's own ASIO drivers etc.

+1 for audio quality improved. I don't care why/how etc.
I suspect its because they'll be shipping my Xite soon.

Exactamente Brotha' Man Francis..............I am not concerned why either, but glad.
It's really noticable on the analog synths I pump into projects. The lows destroy my headsets so I use Shroomz CanControl and cut the lows a little bit.
Even my Blue Sky 8" Sub gets thick as tree sapp.
I don't even use the A16U live because I do not need all of the I/O's, and the Analog input is fine for use and can bypass the ADAT's.
The old analog I/O's on the cards was unacceptable actually, and so I sold all of my Analog 1U effects, now I regret that. The Line 6 Echo Pro is rare these days, and the Oberheim Echoplex Pro and DoD Spring reverb too.
One benefit is the rotary cabinet has mic'd mono outs that can be re routed into the XITE-1 and sounds marvellous, much better than the B2003's Leslie emulation. On the B2003 it sounds like someone stuffed the mic on the lower baffle inside of the wood.....

.
Close mic'd stuff is cool but the emulation has serious wobble and is rather difficult adjusting a proper balance. No biggie though, as I am probably the only user.
I think you will be a happy camper Francios.........
