Upgrading for Xite

Right now, I use a Asus P4C800Dlx with Intel 3.0 gig processor. It doesnt have a pci-e slot, so i need to upgrade to different mobo + cpu + ram. At first i thought replacing the mobo would be enough, so i could still use my cpu + ram, but im afraid i cant find a mobo with pci-e where i can still use these...

I saw in an add the following pc-setup:

Core2Duo E8400 (3GHz)
GigaByte P35-DS3L moederbord (pci-e, gblan, sataII, p35 chipset, etc)
2x2gb adata ramgeheugen (800mhz pc6400)

Would something like this work for Xite-1 ?? Any other (cheap) solutions ?

Suggestions would be welcome

Everyone should know, by now how I feel on this one.

Intel proc, & chipset..you really can't do better. You might want to look at a few Intel MoBos in lieu of Gigabyte, just in case. If you like, I can recommend a few. they are just a teeny weeny bit more expensive, but the stability and longevity you will gain is worth it! (If you don't upgrade very often...like me). let me know...

I agree that Intel CPU's and chipsets have given me years of pleasure.
If you want to stay w/ the Intel combo the P35 chipset and Core 2 Duo's are cheap and very stable.
I have the DP35DP which is a perfect mobo, Simple, efficient and PCI-e 1X's for the XITE-1.
Just to jack off Joel a little bit I am going for the X4 955 AMD this time....... :P

I have a new motto........my government is punishing me financially for playing by the rules all my life...........so Deutschland über alles !!!
