Second card with HDMI and surround

Anyone have experience in running a second sound card with HDMI together with SFP?

I'm thinking about sending multichannel audio from SFP via ASIO to a different sound card and then out via its HDMI-output. It should be possible with the new cards from Asus and soon Auzentech (and others?), at least if they work alongside the SFP drivers.
