VHS emulator VCR-1
Proud to present VCR-1, VHS sound emulator. That's pretty much all there is to it.. I didn't spend time making the layout understandable... the mixers control noise elements and s/n balance, rest of the stuff is pretty straight forward I think.. But basically, you just apply it and forget about it, not too much tweaks necessary.
The effect will totally mess up your sound tho.. if you want it to be subtle, just lower the input, and raise the output.

Re: VHS emulator VCR-1
thnx for all the feedback. Shroomz and I are in talks of doing a device version of the plug, we'll see how it goes. Thanks to Shroomz for offering his help, I think it's collaborative efforts like this, is what makes the scope platform what it is.
BTW, I was very surprised how the 60hz hum itself makes the noise sound authentic.

Ken, it's not going to happen. I can't say why right now though, sorry. Maybe someone else will build it into a device.

Re: VHS emulator VCR-1
Don't forget, to get the European/British sound in your mixes to adjust the Freq to 50Hz
.

Re: VHS emulator VCR-1
i see. thanks what kinda compression settings does one use to get that effect
Re: VHS emulator VCR-1
does this need flexor or mod3? its requesting activation key for "modular insert s", what is that?stardust wrote:It is not a pligin as such.
it is a patch for the modular synth.
if you get a request for an activation key it is very likely for modular.

Re: VHS emulator VCR-1
Kensuguro, Which type of compression did you use on the vocals?
You really got it soundind like the 80's there.
Really good!
