PulsarII won't fit !

So I bought my new quadcore with 4Gb RAM, all quiet components with a fanless graphics card, all on an Asus P5Ke wireless board. It has three PCI slots so I thought I'd be safe.

But no.

One slot is crowded out by the graphics card heatsink; the middle slot has a copper heatsink (on the mobo) in the way; the third slot is too narrow on the edge - I almost sliced away some little wires trying to get the Pulsar in there :-(

So that's it for the PulsarII. I've put it in my #2 machine, but realistically it won't see much use. But it's made it's way through *six* PCs in eight years, so I suppose it's had a good run.

Maybe you could fix it by getting a desktop box for the PC - one that uses risers for horizontally positioned PCI cards :)

or use components that work. you can't blame the card is you have a poorly designed motherboard....

Spirit,

You're to much experimented with the platform, to use this as an excuse .... You're trying to justify yourself buying Xcite ;-)

Cheers

PS: I still have some of your preset for PRISMA!

you mean your motherboard doesn't fit. seems the pulsar fit fine in the last few PCs :D
