USB Only On The New Intel MoBo's Is Scarry !

As I continue to abuse my HDD's running Gigastudio 4 and other streaming ROMplers I cam to realise that my old taken for granted LCD, which works great as far as I can tell, gets little thanks, as I am so use to it never being a problem. I expect it to work.
But I have a problem it seems. My mouse ( trackball w/ 2 x buttons ) is stuck in a certain area of the LCD, and works it way up to the top few inches, and stays there !! ( %*^&**)
I have unplugged everything, including power, since USB can retain enough power to still stay clogged up, and re-booted, several times, just to see the same baloney happening.
It's killing me, especially since I spent hours on an International phone call last night doing syncrosft BULL Shit, etc. I recently ruined an 8GB USB stick somehow, and can't explain it, and my Intel DP35DP uses USB ports w/o PS/2 or parallel.
When a monito goes bad does it begin causing problems w/ the mouse, while still appearing to work.
Or could this be the downside of a USB only world, that I am starting to become increasingly frustrated with?
Before I try buying anything new, I will get a new USB QWERTY, and Mouse, since they are cheap. But I bought this 1U 4 Port KVM/ QWERTY w/ trackball new, and have never experienced a mouse going bad before. And no drivers are necessary anymore with all of this USB only crap.
Any similar experiences w/ a mouse bring limited to the upper area of an LCD before?
