Combo Memory MSI Board

I am starting to finally see after years of visionless products from tier # 1 manufacfurers, some nice choices.

mATX from DFI, Asus massive OC'ing and Crossfire, and now this little beauty.

Everyone usually makes their version of the same crap, and I always go with Intel.

It seems that since Intel has been releasing Overclocking boards of their own, and they are rock solid and very cheap I might add, it has forced these chaps to be creative.

That only makes things better for us guys. :D

For guys who want to go w/ more RAM, and have DDR2 1GB sticks, or whatever. This board is for the memory lovers who like DDR2, and could upgrade later to DDR3.

DDR2 is so damn cheap right now.

I bet this board could last forever w/ good old solid Scope 15's and a big sampler / sequencer.

They even have 3 x 32 bit PCI's. A Scope motherboard for sure.

Friends of mine at AudioMIDI in LA claim MSI boards yield higher track counts as well.

Don't know why and don't care 'bout that nonsense.

But I am glad I followed up on their tip.

Now I know I should wait for the Intel P45 board, if I even decide to upgrade to that. My P35 is just stable city.

Once again Intels market greed and friendly way of letting top tier guys release products for months before they commit, is probably the wisest choice,

But I bet they won't let us use DDR2 in their P45's......we shall see.

It depends on how they made the BIOS. The gigabyte looked promising but everything is sharing and its not scope friendly.(great board though)

if your p35 is stable just keep that. p45 does not have any measurable performance improvements. except for mad overclockers, you probably dont want to do that. the new 45nm CPUs are fast already. and quiet.

This a just a future path to take, and I have definately enjoyed Intels stock P35.

I am going to get XITE-1 and 4 x GB's more of RAM for now.

But the idea of taking my RAM / CPU, and HDD's to the next motherboard is an upgrade path that's hard to pass up.

I just have to try the 64bit route and see if it shows the 30-40% increase that I might enjoy with loads.

I have until August before I start a 30 day Pre Production period. Whatever works out will have to be ready by that time.

I do enjoy reading the results at the tweaker forums though. These guys always test the new stuff and share their excitement.

They also enjoy me as I am the only audio cat there that posts there.

They even go as far to conduct tests for me w/ RAM, HDD's, and PSU's by trying to burn down the components. :D I do listen to their advice, and you'd be surprised to hear that they agree w/ me on Intels stability.
