Minimax at 96khz
Minimax at 96khz
Hi. I read a lot of problems on this forum when people playing Minimax at 96khz. So am i the lucky one? Because i can run it in 96khz without a glitch. Though these threads are old, and there is Minimax update available here in some old thread (and i installed it). I wont say it is improvement for Minimax (but it is different sounding on higher notes at 96khz), but older synths are obviously better/different sounding (almost no aliasing) then on 44khz. Also FX behave better/different.

That's probably one of the reasons some people don't think of Scope as "pro." A lot of mixing engineers like to do everything at 192KHz. I can't imagine myself using anything that high.

192khz is such a waste of space.Nyquist tests have proven that you wont get much improvement after 96khz.I dont know 1 studio here which uses 192khz.I think the biggest jump especially with scope hardware happens from 44.1 to 48.I use 48 only, but for some mastering 96 k is ok.For personal uses 48 suits me fine but i can hear a jump from 48 to 96,for classic recordings and dsd its ok.For dirty electronic music i live with lower rates quite fine. And the Radar systems actually sound way way better at 96 to a lot of users. But as always..Your Milage may vary.
Yes this is pretty obviously when doing real A-B test. So for now, i have 21 DSP system (scope pro and scope home), and i work in 48 khz. I am not hitting roof in DSP limit yet, but if XITE is really at least 8 times powerful of scope pro board then that amount of power will drive my current project at 96khz with ease with a lot of room for other things(warp reverbs)hifiboom wrote:Flux, while mixing may not improve significantly, processing, or synth circuits can improve much more....
