you won't be able to use more than 4gb ram for xp(with the /3GB switch), nor will you likely need to.

I was thinking of 8Gb beacuse of the release of new Vista Drivers and Vista is more hungry for RAM.
Altough I prefer XP it might be a pre-requisite to have a Vista system if I want the PC to last 3-4 years without upgrading.
I'll have to see what happens when users start testing Vista SP1 with the new Scope 5 Vista drivers

Yeah - my minds made up!
F**k Vista  - and its 4Gb of RAM

But I'm still looking forward to Scope 5.....I'll wait until the announcement!
And wait for XP SP3!

Thanks for the advice :)

BTW: I've used ASUS motherboards - does anyone like other brands?

Look at Gigabyte as well..
Do a search here, and a few will show up that´s recommended.

Just have Gary B. build a system for you and be done with it. :)
Saved me time and some studio downtime.
