Any DFI X38 Guys Watching?

Post by dawman »

I really like this company. For years I watched their high end notherboards but figured they were not for Scope.

But since going the VST route in the last year, I have seen some really tempting reasons to get every drop of juice out of an Intel CPU, w/ top end memory.

It sure looks like Scope would love to have 3 reserved seats as well.

Just a damn beautiful peice of work IMHO.

Congrats, and Hats Off To Anyone With Tastes Like This.

True.

But this particular mobo is just the best DDRII X38 made.

The sheer amount of customisation in the BIOS is astounding.

If one was going to tweak the RAM and CPU to work w/ the best OC'd stability, this is the one with the best options, as well as layout.

my DFI P35-T2R is exactly the same mobo (P35 chipset instead of X38) : very well built !

I have bought a Q6700 on ebay (no OC by now but who knows ? Extra power can be necessary and prevents you from an upgrade  ) . Furthrmore i am ready for next softwares that will take advantage of quad cores.

The bios is very comprehensive and yes there are 3 pci slots !!!!!!!!!!!! I have bought a new gigabyte 8600GT videoboard (new fanless model) as I was cramped for room with my previous 7600GT fanless which occupied 2 slots ... beware of that !

I have sold my DP965LT intel because of the bios features (only few ...) and i am really happy with the DFI : no bugs, scope 4.5 and 21 dsp without any trouble !!!! The X38 model is 98% the same !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sooooooo just go for it !!!!!! :D

you won't be desapointed ! ...

Just one last tip : amazingly, i think my 7600 GT (from gigabyte too but early version, the "2 slots verison") was a bit better than my new 8600GT (that needs only 1 slot).... Amazing ? Well for audio system it does not really matter (2 screens / sharp image and here we go ....) but i would probably go for the new 7600GT ....

I remember my extreme intel board (975BX) I dropped because it had only 2 pci slots, i must say this DFI is definitly better when it comes to bios features and removing the hardware audio module is just perfect too (actually, there is no inbuilt audio system, you can add it as it is included ... or not ! ).
