Oooh now I see thanks.I don't remember reading that .I was initially intrigued by the sonic core page with the plug-in warning.

IMHO it's great to see that the Plugins sold by that "company from China" will NOT be compatible with Sonic Core Platform 5. That will teach 'em ;)
But it's still not clear if SCP 5 should only be used when using Vista as OS.
Otherwise I wait a bit longer and stay with SFP 4.5 on XP for now.

It just can't be easy can it.

btw: my reading comprehension is pretty good (I think) but I have no idea what they are talking about in terms of who gets a free V5 upgrade and who does not. I bought Scope Pro (with 4.5) early last year. Am I entitled to V5 when released or do I have to pay for it?

From what I gather,or undersatnd, It's a directx 10 thing as opposed to the gdi.I'm sure there's a programmer who could explain precisely.my tascam fw 1884 vista compatible drivers have no problem working in xp.sorry about the missing capial letters, my cat's sleeping on my right arm.

krizrox, i think if you bought SCOPE 4.5 (from CW) before the 31th of december 2007. you're OK . After that, from SC.

As I read it, everyone who has at some point bought 4.5 is entitled to a free upgrade. (it says either "until" dec 31st 2007 or from 1 jan 2008 onward.)

It seems that only if you have not yet updated to 4.5, the update will be 198,-

I don't understand why they can't simply say that but have to split it into three seperate conditions. Unless I'm misunderstanding of course.

Because that would be too easy. We can't have that. If it was easy everyone would be doing it.

Not sure at all, but I am thinking that this might have something to do with the Use Audio offer...maybe there was a Scope 4.5 license in there as well? If so, then it means that those who bought that package during 2007 still will be eligble for upgrade to V5.

King of Snake is right, you pay for 4.5 or for 5.0. It's the same price. that means that 5.0 has the same plugins and bundles as 4.5, for those you have to pay. and if there is something extra in 5.0, it'll be for free. :)
that is how i see it anyway

and happy new year Image

So maybe someone can clear this up as well. I am running 4.5 but I didn't purchase it because I already have most of the plug-ins and didn't need the extra plug-ins that came with 4.5.
So with version 5.0 it will be different? In order to just get Vista compatibility I'll need to pay for version 5?

very unlikely - as unlikely as you needing Vista compatibility... ;) :D

Oh I don't plan on going anywhere near vista anytime soon. I was just curious. :D
