USB -> parallel adapter -> midi interface

Post by peksi »

Just bought myself a new mobo Asus P5KC. A wonderful mobo but I was stupid enough to not to check if it had a parallel interface. And it didn't.

I've got a MOTU Timepiece AV with parallel interface. Does anyone know any good USB -> parallel IO converters that really emulate an LPT port? Many of them seem to be just for usb printing and do not create any LPT device in Windows XP.

The timing might not be very good even if you can find one that works (People on CNC machining forums looking for them as well, same problem!)

I would get a LAVA PCI parallel port card. like this

Midi can hardly use any bandwidth so i think it shouldn't be a problem?
they might even make a PCI-e version in which case you would be even better off.
