Best Motherboard for Creamware Pulsar 2 Pro??

Post by isounds »

Hi All,

I have quite an old card - the Creamware Pulsar II Pro with 6 DSPs and I want to BUY a new Core 2 DUO PC SYSTEM.

I know from previous experience that it is extremely important (for creamware compatibility) that I get the right motherboard (chipset, etc) and I have some questions:

1.) Can you recommend a particularly good motherboard for use with my Creamware card?

2.) Should I avoid motherboards that have PCi express? Is this an issue?

3.) Is there any particular chipset I should go for or totally avoid?

4.) Will I need to get a full tower case to fit in the length of the card, or will a MINI tower with the right motherboard be OK?

I read somewhere that ASUS boards are good, but I do really want to get the best MOBO possible for integration with my Creamware card. I don't think I will be expanding it though, so as long as I can have 1 very long PCI card then that would be fine.

If anyone can help or give me some advice on this then it would be much appreciated :) I am looking to buy the components before Christmas. Many thanks,

Kind regards,

Jan

There have been tests done by GaryB on the new Intel G33. It is a very Scope friendly board.

I just recieved my DP35DP and new CPU w/ 4GB's of 1.8v DDRII RAM.

It won't be installed until I return after Christmas. I will post it's results in the Masterverb Test thread on the 29th.

This will be my 64 bit DAW eventually, but if get the results needed w/ 32bit XP and 4GB's of RAM, I will not need Vista @ 64bit.
