New Mobo Cpu and software

Going to upgrade shortly and just needed some more advice.
Last time I saw Garyb was saying Intel boards and Core2Duo were stable.
I'd like a nice system that will run a streaming samples system with fast disk access.
The programs will be Cubase SX Gigstudio and of course SFP.
Are there any better systems available for Scope now?
Just off topic but how is it possible to get a good stable RAM based system.I see a lot of Page file usage ate the minute.
