I had to sweet talk a very sweet lass from India to guide me through the support site until she found a diagram of the motherboard.

This is a supermicro design, I am sure of it.

They are the only ones who believe in the parallel placement of DIMM's.
An overlooked idea IMHO, as in a rackmounted chassis, this lines them up w/ a rear case fan.

I love seeing the stuff Dell has made for them.

This Precision T3400 looks to be great seller.

I am sticking to my DFI design. But possibly could be swayed to get the X38 w/ the 3,0 GHz Yorkdale CPU.

What the hell I have suffered for months by living cheaply to have a production group again, and a sparsely booked Psychedelic Gig.

If I want to spend 1500 USD on a new AES / EBU card, I will, and 2000 USD for mobo, Ram, and CPU then I will.

I sure would like to have a truck though.

Yes, and since Intel usually provides the custom motherboards, I have to say the folks at Dell have done their homework and have excellent customer service, as my sons Internet gaming box is a great deal.

I tend to believe that Intel has their name on this, but Supermicro is the only builder I ever saw with the parallel PCI / DIMM arrangement. It is such a great way to have a rear case fan lined right up with the memory. Simple, smart, and efficient desugn.

My Supermicro P4SCT+II has the same great layout.

I know, but I must have 3 x 32 bit PCI's fro my cards, and I am excited about my upgrade, as it will allow me to use much more content, which in turn keeps me interested in performing.

It's a cycle of sorts. I can't even listen to others play when their gear is weak, and my rig has to be perfect at all times, as I get tired of hearing myself play.

I guess I'm just forever fucked.
