might be getting a new pc: good US vendor?

Post by kensuguro »

my pc's been acting completely erratic for the past few days (sudden reboot, shut downs, CMOS "forgetting" settings.. etc) and I'm contemplating getting a new PC. And as I start gathering info, I thought I'd ask some pointers to good vendors. It's usually not a problem in Japan, where I know all the proven vendors, but since this is the first time I'll be assembling a computer in the US, I'd appreciate any help.

I'm looking to renew full system, case, power supply, the whole thing. So, if anyone knows a good vendor in the US that does custom full system sales, that'll be spot on. The case itself doesn't have to be studio spec quiet, but I do want to use silent fans. If there are no vendors that do full system, or atleast anything that'll suite audio work, then I'd appreciate some pointers to parts retail vendors.

Sorry if I sound like I'm trying not to do my homework. I am looking around, but it's really hard to see how dependable these vendors are just from their websites. Alot of crap can happen, and I'm just playing safe by asking around.

I'm kickin myself because I can't get mac.. if I could, I would.
